Google is now rolling out its My Ad Center which changes the way you experience ads on your devices
Google is currently rolling out its “My Ad Center,” which was initially shown at Google I/O 2022, with the intention of providing its consumers with more granular control. Users will now have the ability to exercise control over the types of advertisements they view and opt out of seeing some entirely. As the internet continues to slowly but steadily move toward a more “open” configuration, it will be easier to control the ads that show up on Google services like YouTube, Search, and Discover.
You can quickly access My Ad Center from advertisements on Search, YouTube, and Discover by tapping on the menu button with three dots. This will allow you to see more of the businesses and topics that interest you and less of the ones that don’t. In addition, Google has stated that even if you choose not to see tailored advertisements, you will still be exposed to commercials, but you may find these advertisements to be of lower quality or relevance.
The information that we do and do not collect is determined by a set of fundamental privacy rules that we adhere to. We will never provide anybody else with access to your personal information, nor will we ever utilize the content that you save in services such as Gmail, Photos, or Drive for advertising purposes. In addition, we never make use of sensitive information, such as a person’s health, race, religion, or sexual orientation, in order to tailor advertisements. “It is not allowed under any circumstances,” says Jerry Dischler, Vice President and General Manager of Ads at Google.
Even advertisements on sensitive subjects like gambling, pregnancy, alcohol, dating, parenting, and other related issues can be blocked on Google. Any device on which you are signed into your Google account will immediately enable the option to disable customized ads in ‘My Ad Center’ for advertisements that you view both on and outside of Google. Google also emphasized that you might see advertisements from businesses that use Google tools to advertise on a variety of websites. It also said that you might see ads from businesses that use Google tools to place ads on different websites.
