Girlfriend who saved Elvis’s life many times ignored in movie
45 years after Elvis Presley’s tragic death at the age of 42, Baz Luhrmann’s film biopic has been made available for purchase or rental at the home theatre. Since its debut this summer, the film has gotten largely excellent reviews, however several people who were close to The King have taken issue with the film’s lack of inclusion
Elvis concentrates on The King’s relationship with his manager Colonel Tom Parker and ex-wife Priscilla Presley, the only woman he ever married.
Despite the fact that the actor died in 1977, the biopic finishes in late 1974 and completely overlooks his last two significant relationships.
Ginger Alden, who discovered his body, was one of them, as was Linda Thompson, his partner from 1972 until 1976.
However, the latter is only briefly shown in the movie’s archival video, and it is not referenced at all.
Linda uploaded Instagram photos of herself in Graceland, where she lived with Elvis for four and a half years, around the time of the film’s release.
Linda said “No one can ever take away your knowledge of the TRUTH… Your memories indelibly etched forever… Your significance and importance in the lives of others… Carve out your own accomplishments & know your place in the world. No one can ever take that away from you… Carry the dignity of authenticity and wear it like a crown of honour! Your history and the grace in which you handle it is your legacy.”
