“Ghostbusters – Animated Series is Coming to Netflix”
Following the debut of Ghostbusters: Afterlife in theatres, it appears that filmmaker Jason Reitman has plans to expand the brand beyond the big screen. Reitman and Sony Pictures Animation have teamed up with Netflix to develop a new animated series based on the hit horror comedy genre, according to Variety.
Ghostbusters: Synopsis
If the project is picked up for a full season, it will be the franchise’s third animated series, following ABC’s The Real Ghostbusters in the late 1980s and Extreme Ghostbusters in 1997.

Reitman and Gil Kenan’s Ghost Corps, Inc. company will executive produce the unnamed Ghostbuster animated series. They previously collaborated on Ghostbusters: Afterlife, but they aren’t slated to script the future animated film.
