Frank Fritz, star of ‘American Pickers,’ is Hospitalized after suffering a stroke
Frank Fritz, the star of “American Pickers,” is in the hospital after suffering a stroke on the set.
Mike Wolfe, Fritz’s former co-star, made the announcement on social media.
“I have been very private in the past year in regards to Franks [sic] life and the journey he’s been on,” Wolfe wrote. “There has been lots of opinions in regards to mine and Frank’s friendship and the show but now is not the time to set the record straight. Now is the time to pray for my friend.”
“Frank has suffered a stroke and is in the hospital. Please keep him in your hearts and thoughts,” Wolfe continued. “Frank I pray more than anything that you make it through this okay. I love you buddy.”
He left the History Channel show roughly one year ago to cope with health issues, as TMZ reported. He needs back surgery, and he had Crohn’s disease in his family history.
It is been 23 seasons and 343 episodes of the restoration show, in which the hosts uncover what they believe to be old, beat-up rubbish and bring it back to its former glory.
As of 2010, Fritz was a cast member of “American Pickers.” The 56-year-old actor last featured in an episode in March of the following year.
