Fortnite’s latest patch, version 23.30, introduces the third installment of the Oathbound quests. This week’s looper mission includes taking out Guardian Shields and picking up any Micro Chips that fall to the ground. In case you’ve been living under a rock, the Guardian Barrier is a portable shield that deflects bullets and blasts and may be used to hide from danger. If you want to complete this Oathbound quest, you need to start by locating the Guardian Shield. You can find the Guardian Shield on the floor, in common chests, Oathbound chests, and Supply Drops, just like any other treasure item. However, it’s important to remember that not all of these chests will contain a Guardian Shield, so you may have to open quite a few of them before you succeed.
A Guardian Shield may be used by holding down the right mouse button and clicking the left mouse button simultaneously. Because of this, a shield will appear in front of you. All that remains now is to use a weapon or the harvesting tool to cause damage to the deployed Guardian Shield.
The Guardian Shield will unleash Micro Chips after inflicting damage. To fulfil the Oathbound quest “Damage Guardian Shields to gather dropped Micro Chips,” simply pick them up. Actually, if you succeed in this task, you will receive 20,000 experience points.
