Fortnite 18.30 Update Quietly Adds Two New Weapons
The most recent Fortnite update secretly added two new weapons to the mix. Here’s what you should know.
A new POI, the Cube Queen’s pyramid, and a new War Effort to vote on were all added in the update. The patch notes, however, did not reveal the addition of two weapons: the Icy Grappler and the Combat Pistol.
While both of these weapons aren’t entirely new, having appeared in various forms in the past, they’ve been reworked to give them a new spin in Chapter 2, Season 8. So, what are the effects of these newly added weapons?
Fortnite 18.30 Update Quietly Adds Two New Weapons
The Icy Grappler
The Grappler has previously been seen, but this time it has been given an icy makeover. This weapon isn’t designed for combat; rather, it’s used to make a quick getaway. Players can use the Icy Grapppler to create an ice path that can be used to quickly escape danger.
However, this Grappler appears to be a one-time use item. The original Grappler gave players ten uses, so make the most of this time.
Combat Pistol
The Combat Pistol has also returned in Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary rarities. A Legendary Combat Pistol increases the base damage per shot from 23 to 28. The magazine capacity remains at 15, but the reload time decreases from 1.3 seconds for Common and Uncommon to 1.3 seconds for Epic and Legendary. Rare is right in the middle, clocking in at 1.4 seconds.
Both weapons can be found throughout the map in chests and as floor loot. If you want to give these new additions a try, keep an eye out for them.
Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 8 is well underway and will conclude on December 5.
