FNAF: Security Breach – Who is Gregory?
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is the next step in the series’ growth. FNaF: Security Breach uses gameplay from Sister Location and Help Wanted VR to navigate Freddy Fazbear’s Mega PizzaPlex. Players must sneak past various robots and a strange human enemy, this time aided by a friendly animatronic. The game is set near the current conclusion of the series’ history and is heavily fan service-oriented.
In this new Five Nights at Freddy’s, the characters are as strong as ever. The Glamrock animatronics is both a joyful crew of mascots and a constant threat. Vanny, the first openly human opponent, is an intriguing addition. And the protagonist Gregory is more defined than in previous games. But explaining what’s going on with him will include Security Breach spoilers.
Gregory’s Character in Security Breach
Soon after, the player takes control of a malfunctioning Freddy, before Gregory is evicted from his chest. Gregory slipped into the Mega PizzaPlex and hid to avoid the security guard Vanessa, who turns out to be Vanny’s civilian identity. While nothing is known about Gregory’s past, he is clearly a brave boy to face PizzaPlex’s atrocities.
A vital detail in the one-star finish clarifies his story. Gregory is clearly homeless, as he sleeps in a cardboard box after leaving the PizzaPlex through the front doors. Due to his lack of actual shelter, Vanny follows him out and captures or kills him.
Vanessa may have brought him inside the PizzaPlex to fuel her serial murders, hence his lack of a guest ID. Gregory has learned to protect himself from homicidal animatronics. In one conclusion, he even lies to Freddy about how he recovered some of their components. Gregory’s past is unknown, but his rough existence prepared him to end the chaos in the PizzaPlex.
How Gregory Compares to Past FNaF Protagonists
Gregory is unlike other player characters in several respects. Normally, first-person Five Nights at Freddy’s games are just a way to get to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria (or some equivalent). As a result, they lack a distinct appearance and voice. The FNaF 4 child protagonist was designed in pixel art. Gregory appears in concept art and speaks frequently in Security Breach. Unlike most other protagonists, he is actively traversing the building to escape.
Unlike previous security guards and customers, Gregory has no relationship to the Fazbear brand and despises PizzaPlex. Some heroes have chosen to destroy Fazbear’s Pizzeria rather than just depart, which is a plot commonality. On the other hand, he is self-sacrificing in his quest to find the truth about Vanny and the PizzaPlex. The evils that Fazbear Entertainment permits to fester in its halls have been defeated by random personnel and guests.
