Flash Flood in San Miguel County, Two Person dead and One Missing
After flash floods struck parts of San Miguel County on Thursday, two persons were killed and one remains missing.
Flooding was reported in the Tecolote Canyon area in San Miguel County. The water channel of Tecolote Creek had a car tipped over in it.
Firefighters were unable to locate anyone inside the vehicle. Two ladies, on the other hand, were discovered at different points along the channel.
An adult male is considered to be the second individual still unaccounted for.
The Cabo Lucero Fire Department received a call just after 2:30 p.m. on Thursday reporting a floating vehicle, according to Chief Tim Nix. Two bodies were located near the location, according to the fire chief. Authorities are on the prowl for a third individual.
There was a lot of water in the Calf Canyon/Hermits Peak burn scar.
Currently, it is being investigated by deputies from the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office (SMCSSO). For the hunt for the missing person, National Guard members have been called in.
