FBI seized Donald Trump’s passport so he doesn’t escape from country

As part of their search for classified materials, the FBI raided former president Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, and Trump alleges that three of his passports were stolen in the process.

Trump said on Truth” oh great! I just learned that the FBI, in its now famous raid of Mar-a-Lago took boxes of privileged “attorney-client” material, and also “executive” privileged material, which they knowingly should not have taken. By copy of this TRUTH, | respectfully request that these documents be immediately returned to the location from which they were taken. Thank you!”

Due to the seizure of his valid passports, he would be unable to leave the country. He had complained about the search last Thursday, when he found out that Melania Trump’s wardrobes had been rummaged through as well.

He wanted to remove sensitive documents from the White House before he left office in 2021, therefore the raid’s objective was to uncover them.

There are three possible felonies that Trump is being investigated for: violating the Espionage Act, obstructing justice, and destroying documents. These offences entail penalties ranging from fines to prison terms and the inability to hold public office if he is found guilty.

26 boxes and many folders of “top secret” or “confidential” documents and images were seized, including one labelled “president of France” and another about the pardon request of Roger Stone, Trump’s confidant.
