Fast & Furious 10 Moves Release Date to May 19, 2023
Before reaching its final destination, the next episode of Universal Pictures’ “Fast & Furious” franchise will take a slight detour. On May 19, 2023, the tenth installment in the long-running homage to fast vehicles, physics-defying stunts, and family will be released in theatres. That puts the “Fast & Furious” sequel firmly in the summer blockbuster season, a little more than a month after its previously slated April 7, 2023 release date.
Universal will fill the void left by Dom Toretto and the crew with an untitled animated feature. It has been rescheduled for March 24, 2023, as previously announced. There are no details on that one yet, other than the fact that it comes from the same studio as “Shrek” and that it promises to be a spectacle (we’ll see).
Last summer, the most current “Fast & Furious” film, “F9,” sometimes known as “Fast & Furious 9,” was released in theatres. It made $726 million worldwide, an amazing sum that was lower than previous films in the franchise because of COVID-19’s low ticket sales. Since the initial chapter two decades ago, the series has become one of Universal’s most lasting and valuable properties, generating sequels and spinoffs.
Justin Lin, who directed the ninth film in the franchise as well as several prior films, is back in front of the camera. Vin Diesel, Sung Kang, Nathalie Emmanuel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, and other long-time members of the “Fast” family will return in the tenth installment. Cars will almost certainly crash, odometers will reach their maximum setting, quips will be made, and Vin Diesel will nearly always wax poetic about the value of family.
