Ezra Miller still untraceable by courts
Ezra Miller, who was given a protection order against the 18-year-parents old’s by a court, has not been found.
Fantastic Beasts actor has been accused of intimidating an 18-year-old environmental activist by using violence and other intimidatory means earlier this month.
Standing Rock Sioux tribe court granted an interim injunction last week, granting Tokata’s parents Chase Iron Eyes and Sara Jumping Eagle’s claims that Miller is “psychologically manipulating, physically intimidating, threatening Tokata Iron Eyes,” The Los Angeles Times reported.
Miller has not been served with documents, and Chase Iron Eyes informed a newspaper that the court does not know where Tokata or Ezra are, therefore they cannot serve or execute the order from other jurisdictions.
Ordered to keep at least 100 yards away from the family’s house for 30 days, Miller is also prohibited from “contacting or harassing” Tokata and Chase Iron Eyes and Jumping Eagle. If Miller fails to show up for the hearing on July 12, the court “will provide the relief requested.
According to Chase Iron Eyes, “They move around so much [that] we’re stuck in this legal limbo situation, and we can’t serve them in any place they’re in long enough,”
“They’ve been flighty. They’ve been avoiding service, and now there’s public pressure mounting on them to make a decision, which makes us very concerned about Ezra’s volatile nature. … We’re working very hard to get this order enforced wherever they are.”
Even though Tokata is 18, her parents are still considered her legal guardians by tribal courts, and according to the Los Angeles Times, they have attempted to serve papers in Vermont and California in the past as well.
According to prior reports, 23-year-old Miller initially met an underage Iron Eyes in North Dakota while visiting the Standing Rock Reservation when they were 12 years old.
During a recent encounter, Iron Eyes was left bruised with no access to a vehicle or any of his keys or bank cards, as per his parents’ claims that Miller provided him with booze, weed and LSD. Miller allegedly impacted Tokata’s choice to come out as non-binary transgender, despite her prior self-identification as queer, homosexual, and non-binary. Miller has denied any effect on her decision.
“Comrade” and “emotional and psychological manipulation” were two of the words used in an Instagram post apparently belonging to the activist on June 6. An Instagram video from Tokata has now been produced “clarifying [that] the statements are directly from me”.
Previously, Miller was detained for disorderly behaviour and harassment at a Hawaiian bar, and for allegedly assaulting a lady with a chair, among other charges. The actor has not made any public statements on the events.
