Enrique Iglesias mother reaveals his health condition
Illness prevented Enrique Iglesias from performing at Mexico City’s Tecate Emblema music festival.
The musician released a statement saying he had pneumonia and needed to rest completely per medical advice.
The word quickly spread, and it was Julio Iglesias’s son who took to Instagram to express his disappointment at having to postpone the concert.
The fact that it occurred in Mexico, where he has a sizable fan base, hit him especially hard.
“I have pneumonia and the doctors have advised me to rest absolutely and not to get on a plane,” Iglesias wrote.
“I am frankly sad about what it means to cancel this show in a country that has given me so much.”
The Spaniard plans to apologize to his Mexican fans soon.
“I hope to recover quickly and to be able to be back with you in top form very soon,” said Iglesias.
“I apologise a thousand times and I send a big hug to all my fans.”
Since this setback occurred on May 14th, he has been recuperating. His mother, Isabel Preysler, has been the one to keep the public updated of the artist’s health.
Preysler told journalist Carlos Perez Gimeno, “It was a scare, but fortunately he’s home now.”
“My son is very responsible and it was a great disappointment for him to have to cancel the concert because he is a great professional.”.
“Fortunately, he is recovering, although he is still in bed, and let’s hope that in a few days he will be able to return to his professional activity.”
Despite the fact that Enrique Iglesias has been on break, the video for his hit song “Hero,” in which he and Jennifer Love Hewitt starred and in which Mickey Rourke played the antagonist, has been re-released.
