Emani 22, an R&B musician, died at the age of 22, according to record producer J Maine, who confirmed the death to E! News.
Emani Johnson, the musician and dancer, was best known for songs like “Feelings” and “Inside,” which featured rapper Trippie Redd.
In a statement, frequent collaborator J Maine reflected on her life, saying, “Emani 22 was one of a kind. I enjoyed working with her on the music we created together during ‘The Color Red’ and she will truly be missed.”
The producer went on to say to People,The way we worked together was effortless, we just understood each other. It hurts so bad to know that the last time I saw her was the last time I’d ever see her again.”
J Maine even described Emani 22 as “like a little sister,” adding that “she will be missed and never forgotten, and I’ll always think about the great times we had hanging out.”
Many of Emani 22’s other friends and collaborators have begun to pay tribute to her as well.
Among them is rapper Bhad Bhabie, who posted a photo of the two on Instagram with a sweet statement.

Emani 22’s manager, Fred Green, has revealed more information about the singer’s demise. In a statement, he informs E! News that Emani died in a “tragic accident” earlier this week.
“It is with heavy hearts that the family of Emani has confirmed her passing,” he shared. “They would like to share that although she fought courageously and the medical team went above and beyond doing everything in their power to aid in her recovery.”
Green stated that Emani “succumbed to the injuries she sustained after a tragic accident” on Oct. 11. “At this time, Emani’s family is asking for privacy to mourn and honour her life and memories,” he mentioned.
