Elon Musk’s daughter has filed to remove Musk’s name from her name and disowns him
One of Elon Musk’s children has submitted a name-change petition, saying, “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father.”
The 18-year-old wants to reclaim her mother Justine Musk’s maiden name, Elon’s first wife.
In April, she petitioned California Superior Court to have her gender and name changed on a new birth certificate. There will be a hearing on it later this month.
Elon Musk told that his daughter does not desire to be a public person. I believe in protecting her privacy.
The National LGBTQ Task Force “would never approve or condone outing a young person because they have famous parents,” said Cathy Renna.
Elon Musk has a history of anti-trans and rude statements, especially over pronouns. Renna said, “We hope she finds family support and knows she has a large community behind her.”
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, a self-described “free speech absolutist,” was criticised in 2020 for tweeting that “pronouns suck” His then-partner, Grimes, asked him to turn off his phone because she “cannot support hate.”
Musk subsequently tweeted, “I support trans, but these pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare.”
Musk has also mocked gender differences, writing on June 11 that “we are told gender differences do not exist and that irreversible surgery is the only option.”
He continued, “Perhaps someone wiser than me can explain this.”
Simultaneously, he and “gender neutral” musician Grimes have apparently developed a gender-neutral parenting approach.

Justine, Musk’s wife, wrote a caustic piece about their marriage for Marie Claire in 2010.
“He had grown up in the male-dominated culture of South Africa, and the will to compete and dominate that made him so successful in business did not magically shut off when he came home. This, and the vast economic imbalance between us, meant that in the months following our wedding, a certain dynamic began to take hold,” she stated.
