Ellen DeGeneres Gives Cold Response on Ex-Anne Heche After Car Crash Hospitalization
Ellen DeGeneres has been respectful of Anne Heche since the news that her ex-boyfriend was hospitalised.
The ex-talk show presenter dated Heche from 1997 to 2000, and she just gave a few quick updates on their romance. A photographer asked DeGeneres if she has spoken to Heche since her vehicle accident; she responded, “We’re not in touch with each other, so I wouldn’t know.”
DeGeneres has stated on camera, “I don’t want anyone to be hurt.” therefore it is clear she still wants to wish her success.
The videographer questioned, “It was quite a dangerous accident that happened, wasn’t it?”
DeGeneres said, “Sure was.” before walking to her car.
Since Heche was admitted to the hospital on Friday for treatment of burns, this is the first time the comedian has spoken publicly about the car accident. Heche’s blue Mini Cooper had just slammed into a two-story house, causing a fire that took nearly 60 firefighters to extinguish.
Heche’s rep told “At this time, Anne is in extreme critical condition, “She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention.”
The representative went on, “She is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since shortly after the accident.”
Dr Michael L. Cooper, director of the burn unit at Staten Island University Hospital who is not treating Heche, provided background information on the extent of Heche’s injuries.
Dr Michael explained “She sustained an inhalation injury, which means there was damage to her airways, She could not breathe on her own, and she also sustained third-degree burns, which require surgery. So, these are life-threatening injuries. She is fighting for her life right now.”
