In Elden Ring‘s second legacy dungeon, you’ll face off against the Red Wolf of Radagon as the final monster. This is how you can vanquish Radagon’s Red Wolf.
Redagon left Raya Lucaria years ago, but his terrifying Red Wolf is still there. Despite his master’s departure, this boss is still protecting his mistress. In order to face Rennala in the tower above, you must first defeat Radagon’s Red Wolf in Elden Ring.
The Red Wolf is clearly inspired by Dark Souls’ Great Grey Wolf Sif, both in terms of fighting style and legend. Those who have already defeated Sif will have a leg up on the Red Wolf of Radagon in this Elden Ring boss fight, as the two enemies have a similar strategy—though the Red Wolf is skilled in Glintstone magic, whereas Sif is not. Check below to know how to beat Red Wolf of Radagon in Elden Ring.

Find Red Wolf of Radagon
The Red Wolf lurks just beyond the fog barrier of the Raya Lucaria Academy’s Lecture Hall. There are dangerous Glintstone sorcerers along the way to him who can be especially dangerous in large numbers.
Therefore, we recommend keeping a low profile as you make your way via the stairs and hallways to the classroom.
Make sure your Spirit Summons are fully improved before using them. You should have collected some Grave and Ghost Glowart from the various vaults by now; you can use this with Roderika in the Round Table Hold to fortify your spirit ash. Make sure you’ve finished her side of the task first.
NPC summons to defeat the Red Wolf of Radagon
You can get some help in this boss fight if you’ve become Sorceress Sellen’s apprentice. The boss gate has a gold sign for her to be summoned.
Even while doing so will increase the wolf’s health and strength, Sellen will become a formidable ally. She can use Glintstone magic to pelt the boss from afar, drawing his attention away from you as you chip away at his health.
Radagon’s Red Wolf: Strategies for Defeat
The Red Wolf’s attacks are heavily based on those used by Sif and the Gravetender Great Wolf in the Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3 boss fights, respectively. Therefore, if you have worked under these managers before, that will be very helpful.
Even if you’ve never played a Souls game before, all it takes to defeat the Red Wolf is to keep on the move and strike when the opportunity presents itself. The Wolf moves quite quickly and punches rather powerfully, but fortunately he doesn’t have too much health.
If his strikes are successful, a shield can protect you from serious injury or death. You’ll need to keep a watch on where his Glintstone spells land in addition to the Wolf himself, as he uses them frequently throughout the battle. Putting on any armor or weapons that can ward off the effects of Glintstone magic will aid tremendously.
Melee and ranged strategies
To defeat the Wolf in a melee encounter, your best bet is to come in close, block or evade his attacks, and then pounce while he’s winding up a move or recovering from the last one. Let him approach you, and then make your move. Avoiding his magical attacks requires you to constantly retreat, putting you at a disadvantage when it comes to engaging him in combat.
Fighters at a range must evade his attacks and counter when an opening presents itself. Since you’re probably not as powerful as tank-like players, it’s crucial to maintain a safe distance between the two of you at all times. On the other hand, you probably have a stronger resistance to magic than he does, making his Glintstone strikes less of a worry for you.
Further Red Wolf encounters
You won’t be able to avoid facing Radagon’s Red Wolf again after your confrontation with him in the Academy. Other packs of Red Wolves can be found in various spots across the globe. The first is in the Three Sisters region, which is to the southwest of Liurnia of the Lakes.
As a field boss, this iteration can be easily outrun and avoided with the help of Torrent. This Red Wolf, however, is backed by a pack of regular wolves in the event of a fight. We suggest getting rid of this first, before worrying about the manager.
The Consecrated Snowfield is guarded by another, while a third can be discovered in the Eternal City of Nokron. These are the leaders of their respective fields and are followed by a pack of regular wolves, much like the Red Wolf in Liurnia.
Utilize Torrent and focus on the smaller wolves first before moving on to the larger ones, and apply the same tactics you did against the first Red Wolf of Radagon monster.
