“El Conde – Netflix and director Pablo Larraín Team Up for Dark Comedy film”
On his upcoming vampire-based black comedy, titled El Conde, director Pablo Larran of the film Spencer will collaborate with Netflix.

which is scheduled for release in 2023.
Augusto Pinochet, the dictator of Chile, will be portrayed in the movie as a 250-year-old vampire who only wants to pass away after causing family strife and disgrace. Larran and renowned playwright Guillermo Calderón will write the screenplay, and Juan de Dios Larran of Fabula will produce the movie.
We are thrilled because Netflix is a platform where filmmakers whose work I greatly admire have produced truly important films, Larrain said after the announcement. “We want to observe, comprehend, and analyse the events that have taken place in Chile and around the world over the past 50 years using black comedy. It will undoubtedly be an adventure: a demanding shoot, but one that is very inspiring and meaningful, and we are completely confident that we will do a good job.
