Earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 struck southeast Missouri late Wednesday
According to an earthquake map from the US Geological Survey, a 4.0 magnitude quake struck southeast Missouri on Wednesday night.
The epicentre of the quake was located in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, near Williamsville. This area and the neighbouring environs were spared any damage.
Shortly after first reporting, the intensity was changed from 3.7 to 4.0. According to the map, the earthquake might also be felt in the vicinity of Farmington and Cape Girardeau.
Just before 9 p.m., an earthquake struck the area. People in Kentucky and Tennessee have also reported feeling the tremor.
