Drake Just Released A Surprise Album ‘Honestly, Nevermind’
Drake said earlier today that his seventh studio album, Honestly, Nevermind, will be releasing on the internet tonight, likely in an effort to channel the “surprise album drop” excitement that Beyoncé has been cultivating over the past several weeks.
The Canadian diva made the announcement on Instagram, where she also revealed the album’s cover art and a logo typeface that seems like it was fashioned from candlewax.
Due to the album’s “surprise release,” few specifics are known about it. However, reports that Kanye West was quick to “like” the post announcing the album’s release.

After releasing his sixth studio album, Certified Lover Boy, only nine months prior, Drake has had a very prolific era, which is reflected in the release of Honestly, Honestly, Nevermind. Although the album did not reach the same heights of commercial success as Drake’s previous work, it did well enough in the charts to warrant a platinum certification. (And his whole catalogue amassed a genuinely insane number of streams, to the tune of around 8 billion over the course of 2021).
Drake’s new SiriusXM programme, Table For One, premieres tonight at 11 p.m. Eastern on the radio company’s Sound 42 channel, and the release of Honestly, Nevermind, makes perfect sense given the importance of corporate synergy in all things Drake-related. Listening might not be a bad idea if you are a fan and you want to know the album’s status early on.
