Drake has been ordered to sit for deposition in XXXTentacion’s murder trial
Drake has been ordered to deposition or appear in court in the XXXTENTACION murder trial. The defence lawyer for one of the three defendants, Dedrick Williams, sent Rolling Stone the order on Thursday (February 9). Drake’s quarrel with X before his death has led Mauricio Padilla to suggest he killed X.
Padilla attempted to summon Drake for a deposition last month before the trial, stating that the Toronto native was properly served but did not appear. Padilla then requested an “order to show cause,” which the judge approved.

Drake’s February 24 deposition is ordered

“If deponent Aubrey Drake Graham does not appear to deposition he must appear before this court on Monday Feb. 27, 2023, at 10 a.m. EST at so the court can determine why he should not be held in contempt,” it reads.
Padilla has listed Drake, Quavo, Joe Budden, and 6ix9ine as prospective witnesses despite no proof tying Drake to the murder. XXXTENTACION first criticized Drake in 2017, accusing him of biting his “Look At Me!” flow on More Life’s “KMT.”
“If anyone tries to kill me it was @champagnepapi. I’m snitching right now,” X posted on Instagram before claiming his account was hacked.
Padilla mentioned the quarrel and Instagram post in his opening statements on Tuesday (February 7). The retraction was not mentioned.
“Do you think… any detective has ever asked Drake or anybody like that? No, they never did that,” Padilla said.
Williams, Michael Boatwright, and Trayvon Newsome are on trial. The three accused might be sentenced to life. Boatwright is suspected of shooting XXXTENTACION.

Soon after, the three suspects and Robert Allen were arrested for first-degree murder and armed robbery with a handgun. Allen pled guilty to second-degree murder in August 2022 and testified against his accomplices for a lesser sentence.

“As he’s grabbing the bag shots are fired,” Allen told the courtroom on day three of the trial. When asked to clarify who fired the shots, Allen responded: “Michael Boatwright.” When asked to confirm who Boatwright allegedly shot, Allen responded: “Triple X.”
Allen explained how the four co-defendants split X’s $50,000. Allen was questioned about why he only earned $5,000 while Boatwright, Dedrick Williams, and Trayvon Newsome got $15,000.
“I wasn’t participating in the robbery,” Allen responded. “[Williams] actually said I wasn’t going to get any money at all.”
