Don’t Believe Fake Twitter Trend, Jimmy Fallon Is Alive and Healthy
It seems like Fallon is just the latest celebrity to fall victim to the internet’s trend of spreading fake news of their deaths.
Fallon is the latest celebrity to be the victim of a death hoax, following in the footsteps of Tom Holland, Wendy Williams, and others.
It was a tweet that said, “It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of late night legend, husband, and father of two, Jimmy Fallon. 1923-2022.” that first spread the news that Fallon had died.
Also included in the article was a throwback photo of Fallon and his dog.
Since the phoney message appeared to come from the Tonight Show’s verified account, many people believed the news to be true. The actor, though, is healthy and still active.
The mention of a birth year in the post immediately raised suspicions that it was a forgery. The blog entry incorrectly states that Fallon was born in 1923; he was really born in 1974.
Despite the fact that Fallon is only 48 years old, if you accept the year listed on the post, he is 99.
Social media users have apparently been duped into thinking Fallon has died thanks to the skills of a photoshop magician.
Later, Jimmy Fallon tweeted from his own account, pleading with Elon Musk to resolve the issue.
