“Doctor Strange 2′ – Shows That the MCU mixed with Elements of horror and adventure Surprisingly Well”

The last thing that springs to mind when thinking of Marvel’s latest films is terror. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is chock-full of entertaining, bombastic, and exciting films that appeal to a wide range of fans. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, on the other hand, surprised audiences when it ventured in the horror genre. The biggest surprise isn’t that it incorporated horror elements, but that it did so effectively.

Multiverse of Madness

Before the release of Multiverse of Madness, I assumed that Wanda would tour the multiverse with Dr. Strange as an ally after some little fight between the two. I had no idea that this Marvel sequel would be a slasher flick, with Wanda playing Michael Myers and Dr. Strange and America Chavez playing Laurie Strode. Many of Strange’s decisions are made with the goal of avoiding or warning others about Wanda.

It’s a quest of preservation against a force of nature, rather than a fight of principles represented by mighty heroes and villains. Strange, Wong, Reed, and Professor Xavier all attempt to reason with Wanda, but as everyone who has seen a slasher film knows, that rarely works. My point is that it’s an unusual notion for a Marvel picture, which is notorious for sticking to a predictable formula.

Part of this is due to the MCU’s lack of directorial independence, which has been criticised heavily. A lot of Marvel movies have a similar look to them. It’s up to you how much this upsets you, but given previous events like Edgar Wright’s resignation from Ant-Man, it’s a genuine issue. However, everything in Multiverse of Madness has a distinct Raimi vibe about it, which is a pleasant surprise. I wouldn’t call this a terrifying, straight-up horror film, but it has a bit more of the director’s taste than any prior Marvel film. While there are traces of their directors’ approach in Thor Ragnarok and the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, it never feels as dense like it happens in the sequel to Doctor Strange

Is Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Too Scary For Kids?

About some characters

Some characters are burned alive and shredded into ribbons, while others have their necks snapped and their brains savagely collapsed. It’s a big cry from the MCU’s normal sanitised violence. Dr. Strange, after all, possessed a decaying corpse and channels the spirits of the damned to torment Wanda as she attempts to sacrifice a teenager. That was a lot of action for a modern PG-13 film, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Maybe it was because it was so Evil Dead, but it felt like a refreshing change for a Marvel film.

I’d like to applaud this polarising adjustment, because it has shifted my perspective on the MCU. If Sam Raimi, of all people, can get away with putting his signature style into a superhero film, maybe Marvel can loosen up and seek out to directors with strong visions, letting them go a little. Perhaps they’ll be able to try out new genres or return to horror with characters like Blade and Ghost Rider. Do I expect it to happen right away and without any complications? Certainly not, but I see it as a positive indicator for the franchise as we approach the 29th instalment in July.

Other details

I’m hoping that the success of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness pushes Marvel to give them a little more leeway when it comes to experimenting with new genres, as it did so well in the Multiverse of Madness. Their diverse cast of characters can readily lend themselves to a variety of films, which could go a long way toward preventing the dreaded “Superhero Fatigue.” At the very least, I’m hoping for a sequel to Sam Raimi’s Dr. Strange, because the MCU can certainly handle some horror.

TRIP: Trailer

Director Neil McCay says About the Trip

,When I was six years old, I saw Gremlins and became obsessed with monsters. Then I became obsessed with storytelling and filmmaking, and monsters just happened to show up. “However, I had never imagined a monster that was intangible, like an emotion,” director Neil McCay says. “And it was there that the concept for Trip was born.” Could depression be portrayed as a villain in a film? Trip appealed to me because it wasn’t just about making terrifying things happen. The central theme of the story was grief and depression, as well as the struggle to maintain relationships and hope. I found the storytelling therapeutic as someone who has struggled with this. Despite the fact that the film is about a reclusive alcoholic who isolates herself in her home,

This was all written and filmed in 2019, long before we heard of COVID-19, and there is a character who appears wearing a face covering. It’s purely coincidental! But I’m glad it could be a topic of discussion. We need to lean on each other now more than ever to talk about and deal with issues like isolation and depression.”

“Sacha Baron Cohen’ – Set to Star in HBO Max Animated Special, with Mike Judge and Greg Daniels”

Golden Globe winner Sacha Baron Cohen has teamed up with King of the Hill creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels to create Chelm: The Smartest Place on Earth, a family-friendly animated comedy special. Cartoon Network and HBO Max are expected to premiere the project.

About Chelm: The Smartest Place on Earth.

We just knew the HBO Max audience needed a dose of this unique brand of storytelling after hearing this pitch,” Amy Friedman, Warner Bros.’ head of kids and family programming, said in a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter). “Chelm: The Smartest Place on Earth is the ideal blend of comedy and satire, and no one does it better than Sacha, Greg, Mike, and Michael.” This one-of-a-kind project will reintroduce the nonsensical Chelmic wisdom that arose from this fictitious city of people who aren’t quite the sharpest tools in the shed.”

Chelm: The Smartest Place on Earth – Synopsis

The special “shares the absurdist humour and interpretive questioning that is a nod to Jewish intellectual traditions,” according to the synopsis, and is set in the mythical Town of Fools. “While preserving the essence and heart of the classic folktales, it will present a fresh take on the town’s silly antics and exaggerated conflicts.”

Chelm: The Smartest Place on Earth – Other details

Cohen, Judge, Daniels, Koman, and Dustin Davis serve as executive producers. It comes from Judge and Daniels’ newly formed animation company, Bandera Entertainment.
