Disney+ subscribers will be able to see Logan and the Deadpool movies
In the past, it was hard to think that 20th Century Studios’ more mature Marvel products like the Deadpool movies and Logan would ever be streamed on (a somewhat kid-friendly network like) Disney+. But that is exactly what is about to happen, just in time for Comic-Con in San Diego.
With this announcement, Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Logan will all be moving to Disney Plus on July 22nd, much like Netflix’s Marvel programmes have been doing since 2012.
Some of Disney’s more adult-oriented films were inevitable to appear on Disney Plus when it implemented new content classification standards early this year. The timing of Marvel’s announcement is a little more interesting than the news itself. SDCC has not seen major news from Marvel (or any other studio for that matter) in three years, so announcing this at the same time as other studios are gearing up for their own panels is an encouraging sign.
