Disney+ revealed the first look of National Treasure: Edge of History at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con
At the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, Disney+ debuted the first trailer for the upcoming streaming series, National Treasure: Edge of History. A teaser trailer and a behind-the-scenes video that showcase the newest treasure hunter, Jess Morales, were made available by the streamer. Lisette Olivera plays the lead role as Jess, a resourceful and perceptive dreamer who embarks on a journey to locate and save a lost Pan-American treasure. Zuri Reed, Antonio Cipriano, Jordan Rodrigues, Jake Austin Walker, Lyndon Smith, and Catherine Zeta-Jones all appear in the film as Olivera’s co-stars. Riley Poole will once again be played by Justin Bartha in the supporting role. It was also revealed that Harvey Keitel would return to the show as FBI Special Agent Peter Sadusky as a guest star.
The National Treasure television series, featuring Nicholas Cage as Benjamin Gates, the cunning treasure hunter who discovered some of the greatest treasures in history, is the inspiration for the show. A map that Gates found on the Declaration of Independence back in the first movie guided him to one of the world’s greatest treasures hidden beneath Trinity Church in New York City. In the second movie, Gates utilized the Book of Secrets to uncover Mount Rushmore’s hidden city of riches and establish the great-great-innocence. The grandfather’s cage is not currently planned to feature in the show.
The writers of the two movies, Cormac and Marianne Wibberley, are back for the television show. Along with the two producers of both movies, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jon Turteltaub, the Wibberleys will also act as executive producers. The series will also be directed by Mira Nair, who will also act as an executive producer alongside Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, Rick Muirragui, and others. Disney+ has not yet given a date for when National Treasure: Edge of History will be available.
