If you’ve spent any time fishing in Destiny, you’ve probably seen the “focused fishing” meter on the left side of the screen. This bar might fill up slowly while you fish, making onlookers curious as to its purpose. It’s fantastic news, and if you play your cards well, you could make some significant dough.

Destiny 2: What is Focused Fishing?
The ability “Focused Fishing” improves your fishing proficiency. Longer fishing sessions, more bait, and fishing with others will all contribute to a full meter. When a group’s meter reaches one of the little markers, anglers receive an enhancement.
The greater the strength of the buff, represented by a larger number in the bar, the greater the chance of catching a legendary or even an exotic fish. This is significant since the HELM is where fish donations can be made. Navigate there via the tab labeled “Destinations,” collect the fish, then turn them in at the aquarium to receive your reward.
Fishing is a hilariously ideal pre- or post-Raid activity for a party participating in either. You can improve your chances of catching fish by heading to a fishing hole once everyone has some bait. In no time at all, your Fireteam members will be fishing for Exotic Fish to trade in for Exotic Armor as soon as the meter is full.
