Safe Key Locations in Dead Island 2
Curtis’ Valuables Safe is the first safe you’ll find in Dead Island 2, and it’s located in one of the residences you’ll have to explore on your way to the Halperin Hotel. This key, like all other Lockbox Keys, will appear at random.
Each Lockbox Key is dropped by a different type of zombie with a different name that spawns in the same general area. Zombies often take the form of Walkers or Shamblers, though occasionally unique afflicted will have keys.

Dead Island 2: Where to Get Lockbox Keys
In order to gain access to Curtis’s garage and safe, you must first defeat two zombies. The latter, however, is unavailable at the beginning stages of the game.
You won’t be able to earn this, instead, until you’ve fought your first Screamer zombie. The key will thereafter spawn in Curtis’ residence, dropped by a Screamer with a random name.
How to Obtain the Goat Pen Master Key
Unlike regular Lockbox Keys, this set never disappears. Instead, you’ll need to advance the plot so that Curtis at Emma’s House can give you the Creature Comforts side mission. You must have finished the side mission Death of the Party before continuing.
There is no need to worry about tracking down a specific zombie, as the keys will spawn on a bedside table in the mansion once the side quest has been completed.
