Daniel Brown Says Die Antwoord’s Ninja Sexually Assaulted Him
South African hip-hop group Die Antwoord’s Ninja has been accused of sexual assault by Danny Brown.
The 41-year-old musician said the attack took place during an afterparty for one of his gigs in Paris, and he made the charges during a recent interview on the 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast. Brown said to Tom Segura that he had offered to put the rapper’s name on the guest list after he DM’d about meeting up after the event, but that Ninja had rejected.
“[He’s like,] ‘Don’t worry about it, I’ll find you,’” Brown recalled. “That was weird, that was like one red flag.”
Brown claims he ran into Ninja and was “freaked out” by the man’s antics. He said that Ninja tried to make out with him repeatedly while sitting on his lap at the club. Ninja and Yolandi Visser of Die Antwoord have a kid, and Brown implies that Ninja proposed to the two of them as a trio.
“I was a single, experimenting man at the time, but he was too aggressive!” he said. “He sat on my lap and started trying to kiss me and shit and doing weird shit. I’m like, ‘Man, you tripping!’”
“Ninja tried to fuck me. I was scared … … He always throw Yolandi on you. I think that’s how he’s been fucking n****s. Fuck them, though! Fuck them. I could’ve canceled cuz. MeToo. I was sexually assaulted by Ninja. He know I ain’t lying!”
Brown said that Ninja would not back down and threatened to reveal the location of the hotel where he was staying. Brown said he would been drinking and had aggressive thoughts.
“That’s what started making me pound drinks because I’m like, ‘I might have to stab this na tonight.’ Because if this na knock on my hotel room door, bro, I’m the stabbing the shit — it’s gonna be a big deal,” he said. “It’s gonna be a thing. That would’ve been a fight, but I’m in Paris. Who want to be in a Parisian jail? Na, do you know what jail is like for me in Paris? It’s gonna be crazy. So I’m shellshocked, like, ‘This na’s really doing this?’’
Brown stated Ninja never showed up to his hotel and they haven’t interacted since. Ninja has yet to officially reply to the claims. Above you can listen to Brown’s complete comments on the alleged assault, and below you can see the whole episode of 2 Bears, 1 Cave in which Brown discusses the incident.
Brown’s claims follow those of Australian Zheani Sparkes, who accused Ninja of sexual assault over three years ago. According to Sparkes, the event took place in South Africa in 2013. Dionna Dal Monte, a singer, has also claimed that Ninja sexually assaulted her.
