Cyberpunk’s Phantom Liberty expansion expected release date
The latest Phantom Liberty expansion teaser was released in December 2022, featuring Idris Elba in a lead role in the future DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. Now, a claim has been made on the Polish show “Rock i Borys Podcast” that puts the release date of the expansion at June 2023.
No exact date for the release of Phantom Liberty has been announced as of yet. In a company-wide update posted in 2022, CD Projekt reported the current status of its projects, including Phantom Liberty, which was said to be in “the final stages of development” at the time and was also seemingly highlighted as having a release date of “2023.”
According to the ‘Rock and Boris Podcast’ (credit to TwistedVoxel for the news), Phantom Liberty’s release date is set for June 8th. ‘Boris’ said that he has been invited to the Summer Games Fest by CDPR themselves, and that his sources within the studio have confirmed the rumored release date for Phantom Liberty, while discussing the game’s future.
The Phantom Liberty add-on for Cyberpunk has been expertly crafted, from what I’ve read. It’s no secret that Cyberpunk had a rough go of it when it came out in the year 2020. It had so many problems (including poor performance) and received such negative feedback that lawsuits were filed.
At this point, not only is it playable, but the updates have made it fun, engaging, and original. We will all move on to Cyberpunk 2077’s planned sequel after the release of Phantom Liberty, the game’s first and only expansion, as per CDPR’s road map.
Let’s hold our breath till we hear whether or not Phantom Liberty will have a set release date during the Summer Games Festival.
