“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners – Netflix Released Opening Credits for Anime Series”
Rejoice, anime and Cyberpunk 2077 fans! The opening credits for the 2077 offshoot Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which recounts the side narrative of a street boy named David Martinez striving to make it big in Night City, have been made available on Netflix. Zach Aguilar will play David in the Edgerunners episode that premieres in September, according to a Studio Trigger announcement made at Anime Expo. The show’s opening, an arresting visual composition set to Franz Ferdinand’s “This Fire,” was also made available on Netflix at the same time.
A 10-episode anime series called Edgerunners is based in the Cyberpunk 2077 reality of 2020. Studio Trigger is perhaps most known for its work on Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill. Akira Yamaoka, who is best known for his work on the Silent Hill video game series, will be responsible for all of the series’ music aside from the opening credits.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners: Trailer
Edgerunners will only be related to the original video game’s story in terms of its setting; nonetheless, references of some kind are likely. When it was released in 2020, the open world techno game by CD Projekt Red was plagued by technological problems. A February update and a release on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 have, however, corrected some of those issues.
Edgerunners is one of many anime shows based on video games that Netflix continues to rank at the top of the ratings, continuing their partnership with CD Projekt Red. The live-action adaptation of The Witcher, which they previously worked on, introduced new fans to the series and generated buzz online thanks to its memorable scenes and music.
