Cricut’s clamshell heat press is so simple to use, I’m sure you’ll be impressed. You’ve never seen a heat press like this before!
Cricut AutoPress: When can you buy it
The Cricut AutoPress will be available for purchase from May of next year. On the Cricut website, you can learn more about how to buy it.
Cricut AutoPress: What do you get in box?
Two boxes with sequential numbers inside. The first box includes a control panel, a power cord, and a start-up handbook. The control box features two dials and four buttons numbered one through four on the top. There is a power cord in the second box.
All packaged up and ready to go. When you open the package, it will be securely Packed. You have complete control over whether or not it’s locked and available for storage at any given time.
You may unlock the press by pressing the lock button on the side with the power button. The door will swing open at any moment!
To ensure you don’t have to worry about the heat plate getting too close to your hands when loading or unloading, Cricut AutoPress opens wide when you open it.
The press includes a detachable mat as well. Simply take it out of the bottom plate to remove it. In comparison to the EasyPress Mat, this one has an adhesive backing that keeps it in place on the plate. It’s still possible to remove it, place a blank on it, and then reapply it.
A handle is located on the front of this heat press, as well as a little area on the rear for your hand. Carrying it by the handle is also an option.
Cricut AutoPress: How to set up?
When you purchase the press, you will receive a card with a website URL for activation and setup. You must first activate and register this machine by connecting it to a computer. A PC with a USB port is required. In order to do so, you may require an adapter if you have a recent Mac.
To begin, insert the cord into the control box’s rear. Once the cord has been inserted, the box is ready for use. You may also change the heat press’s temperature unit from Fahrenheit to Celsius on the rear of this control panel. I’ll be using Fahrenheit as my temperature setting.
Add the power cord to the press, and you’re done. Connect one end to the rear of the AutoPress and the other end to a standard wall outlet.. Setup may begin as soon as that’s connected.
Cricut Design Space or the card’s URL should be opened at this time. Cricut Design Space will be my tool of choice for this. As a first step, I select New Product Setup by clicking the three horizontal lines in the upper left corner of the screen. Then select Heat Press and Design Space will guide you through the procedure.
Just for the setup, connect your controller’s USB cable to your computer. You’ll get an error message and be instructed to use a PC instead if you try to plug the controller into the press at this stage.
Click activate when Design Space has recognised the control pod and you’ve agreed to the conditions of usage. After that, Design Space will begin preparing the machine, and the controller’s countdown will commence. Design Space is over when your control pod is current.
To use your Cricut heat press, unplug it from your computer and attach the USB cable to the heat press’s rear end. Finally, the AutoPress is operational!
Cricut AutoPress: Buttons
There is a power button and a lock/unlock button on the side. A lock icon will appear on the machine’s display if you turn the power on while it is locked or closed.
AutoPress won’t heat up unless you unlock it and leave it open. You’ll hear a fan motor start up as soon as you press the start button. Your entire heat plate is heated at the same time thanks to a blower within. Depending on your temperature setting, it will take roughly 8 minutes to heat up.
Your temperature is set using the left dial on the control pod, while the time is set using the right dial. To raise or lower it, all you have to do is turn the handle. At 400 degrees F, the maximum duration is 600 seconds or 10 minutes. HTV, Infusible Ink, and sublimation may all be printed on this press.
What is the source of your time and temperature? – Cricut Heat does not support Cricut AutoPress, therefore you’ll have to enter the time and temperature manually while using this software. Use the Cricut Heat Guide or your materials to determine the appropriate settings.
Presets are available via the buttons at the top. They’ll arrive pre-programmed, but you have complete creative control over how they’re customised. Switching between presets is as simple as pressing the corresponding button on the remote. Do you want to make a modification to it? It’s as simple as turning the radio dial to a new station. Hold down the button while entering the desired setting. A beep and a flash will be heard to indicate that you’ve adjusted the preset to your liking.
What happens if you make a mistake and wish to revert to the default settings? The factory settings can be restored by inserting a paperclip into the hole on the control pod’s rear.
Cricut AutoPress: Measurement
The 53-pound heat plate is 15 inches in width by 12 inches in depth. The press measures a total of 16.63″ wide by 26.07″ deep. Some of the front can hang off as long as the base is on your table. The base is recessed from the lip on the exterior. From the rear to the front of the foundation, you’ll need around 22.5 inches of space. It’s a standard counter height.
Cricut AutoPress: Pressure Adjustments
Cricut AutoPress does not allow for modifications in pressure or height. The thickness of your foundation material might reach two inches. Until the bottom plate is about six inches over my shoulders, the top is sloping downward. You may then press it down on a surface once it is horizontal. As a result, the Autopress is capable of working with many different surfaces, and I’ll be testing some of them out soon.
To put it another way, how does the auto press work? You’ll hear a motor start up when you push it all the way in. To put it another way, the pressure is always on. The correct amount of pressure is applied as it presses down and down. This feature is getting a lot of attention, so stay tuned! What does this imply for you? The EasyPress is no longer need to be pressed down the entire time! All you have to do now is set the press!
Cricut AutoPress: Safety
The Cricut AutoPress’s plastic top and front handle maintain relatively cold during the pressing operation. In order to maintain a constant temperature, the heater uses a motor to run at all times. In addition, the press has an auto-off feature that shuts it off after 13 minutes of inactivity.
Cricut AutoPress: Features for Simple Closure and Auto-Opening
With the Cricut AutoPress, closing is a breeze thanks to the motor that exerts pressure. Close the press with two fingers and start the motor.
Once the timer has run out, it will likewise automatically open. So go ahead and push the button, and then go to work on your next empty page. It will automatically open after the timer expires, so you don’t have to do anything. When your press beeps, there’s no need to fumble with your hands or rush to open it.
With two fingers, lift the handle to open the press if you’ve made an error or need to do so. Upon pressing the release button, the press will immediately open.
Cricut AutoPress: Clamshell Press
Let’s get started with a real-world example. To produce a bigger image on a pillow cover, I’ve preheated my Autopress. Yes, I am certain that I can complete this design in a single press. Preheating my blank for a few seconds was the first step in the process of getting rid of any moisture. I do not reset my preheat time on my dial. After a few seconds, I just lift the lever.
Simply adhere the cut and weeded HTV pattern to your work surface when it has been completed. Let Cricut AutoPress do all the work for you! For the materials I’m working with, I’ve got my control pod set to the appropriate time and temperature.
When I apply the appropriate pressure, AutoPress takes over and all I have to do is sit and wait. Preparation for your next blank is ideal at the moment. If you have an auto press, investing in a second mat is a smart move since it allows you to prep one job while the other presses. Multiplying a project is a breeze with this press.
The press will spring up to allow you to remove your project and carrier sheet after it has finished printing. To finish the cover, I sewed in a pillowcase. Making anything using the Cricut AutoPress is simply that simple!
Removing the Press from the Heat
Let’s now discuss how to switch off the press. You can’t close and lock it if it’s on and heated up. Pressing the button repeatedly will cause it to beep until you push the power button to silence it. You’ll need to click the power button first to turn the press off. It’s up to you if you want to keep it open or close it. When it’s time to cool down, you may lock it up and leave the mat inside. Nothing on the control pod has to be turned off because the machine’s power button does it all.
Cricut AutoPress: Storage
So, for those of you who have a limited amount of floor space or a limited amount of crafting space. It’s possible that you’ll like another function of auto press. AutoPress may be stored upright on its back with the power line and control panel unplugged from the rear. In a closet or behind a door, this could be put away. From this position, it might be used in several locations. However, despite its weight (53 pounds), it’s manageable when carried with the handle at its peak (on the top).
Who is the Cricut AutoPress for?
Using this heat press is like working with an expert. Automated and simple usage is the goal of this tool for those who frequently push numerous items at the same time. As a result, AutoPress is a wonderful option for small businesses or individuals that need to produce large quantities of T-shirts for charitable causes. Whenever you’re conducting large-scale production, I’d recommend a heat press.
Is it strong enough to exert significant pressure?
The pressure is automatically set, as we discussed earlier. This press does not allow for pressure adjustment. I’ll be working on a variety of crafts and surfaces, so that’s a lot of different things.
As a result, regardless of the thickness of the blank you’re working with, the pressure will be the same. Due to its height, a thick blank will not exert greater pressure than a thinner one. As a result, you won’t have to worry about doing any tests because of the auto press. Pressure can’t be changed, hence the time and temperature may have to be modified.
When can we expect to buy it?
The Cricut AutoPress will not be available for purchase until May of next year. I received this press in advance so that I could develop material and demonstrate its functionality to you.
