“Chris Evans – Open up about Returning as Captain America a ‘Tall Order’’
Rumors about Chris Evans reprising his role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been circulating for years, but in a recent interview, the actor seemed to hint that it would not happen unless the stars aligned.
During a recent interview
During a recent interview, Evans was asked about rumours of his comeback, possibly in a scenario in which Captain America returns the Infinity Stones. Evans acknowledged that people want him to return, but said it would be a “big order.”
“That appears to be something that people want to see,” Evans told ComicBook. “I don’t want to disappoint anyone, but it’s difficult to… It was a fantastic run, and I couldn’t be happier. It means a lot to me. It would have to be flawless. It would be terrifying to shake something so precious to me. That role means a great deal to me. So revisiting it would be a difficult task.”
Despite Evans’s assurances that he will not return, the possibility remains open. With the incorporation of the multiverse in many MCU stories currently, it’s not impossible for a Captain America variant to arrive.
Other details
While Evans’ Steve Rogers has been mentioned in several Marvel Cinematic Universe entries since Avengers: Endgame, we haven’t seen the character since he returned from delivering the Infinity Stones an immeasurably older man, satisfied with not being the superhero everyone anticipated him to be. Since then, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) appears to have assumed the mantle of Captain America and will star in the fourth instalment of the franchise.
