Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy Attached to be part of Afghanistan Evacuation Film
The two stars have appeared in a number of action-packed flicks.
Fans of Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy, as well as terrifying, heart-wrenching, courageous combat stories, will be pleased to learn that the dynamic combo has been cast in a new film about the Afghanistan evacuation, according to Deadline. George Nolfi will helm the film, which has been picked up by Universal. Nolfi submitted the idea without a title and intends to follow a scenario he gleaned from the media surrounding the turbulent exit of Afghanistan earlier this year.
The film will focus on three former special forces team members who bravely risk their own lives to head back into the mounting madness alongside their Afghan counterparts on a mission to rescue multiple families and allies who were left behind amid the confusion and panic during Afghanistan’s swift fall.
Nolfi is best known for writing and directing The Adjustment Bureau in 2011 and The Banker last year. Nolfi has also contributed to films such as Ocean’s Eleven, The Bourne Ultimatum, and Timeline.
Tatum will soon be seen in the upcoming comedy Dog, which he is co-directing with Reid Carolin. The film will be another military-themed picture, telling the narrative of Army Ranger Briggs and his Belgian Malinois companion dog, Lulu, as they race down the Pacific Coast in order to attend their best friend’s and handler’s burial. In February 2022, a dog will bark onto a screen. In addition to his busy schedule, Tatum will co-star with Sandra Bullock in the upcoming adventure-filled romantic comedy The Lost City. Which is scheduled to be released in theatres in April 2022.
Hardy has also been a busy man, having recently acted in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, a smash antihero thriller in which he co-starred with Woody Harrelson and Michelle Williams. Let There Be Carnage, a sequel to 2018’s Venom, shattered box office records when it debuted in theatres in October. Hardy also recently completed filming for Gareth Evans’ next Netflix thriller, Havoc.
The plot synopsis indicates that the film will revolve around three troops, although the third has yet to be revealed. Based on Tatum and Hardy’s casting, we can expect another actor with a strong action-based background to star in this action-driven film. This new picture featuring Tatum and Hardy does not yet have a release date.
