Britney Spears reveals “I don’t believe in God anymore” in new audio tape
On Monday, Britney Spears uploaded a new audio tape to Instagram in which she discussed her family life in great depth, including her relationships with her boys Jayden and Sean Preston and her ex-husband Kevin Federline. As background, Federline and Jayden were recently featured in a contentious interview, which led to this recording.
During the first three minutes of the audio, Spears says, “I can totally understand why my family would have a problem with me doing my own thing, maybe ’cause I never have,” referring to the limited freedom she enjoyed over the course of more than 13 years while her father, Jamie Spears, served as her conservator. Federline is the sole custodial parent of their two kids.
At the end of the tape, Spears discussed how her conservatorship had affected her religious beliefs, saying, “God would not [have allowed] that to happen to me if God existed. I don’t believe in God anymore because of the way my children and my family have treated me.”
“There is nothing to believe in anymore. I’m an atheist, y’all,” she remarked.
Besides airing on ITV last month, the interview with Federline and Jayden was also broadcast on “60 Minutes Australia,” a programme unrelated to CBS News’ “60 Minutes.”
Jayden Federline, during the interview, spoke up in defence of his grandfather, saying, “doesn’t deserve all the hatred he is getting in the media.” His grandma Lynne, whom Spears has accused of supporting the conservatorship, receives his full backing.
Even though Spears has called her conservatorship “pure abuse” Kevin Federline claimed in an interview with ITV that he thinks it was necessary because her father “saved her back then.”
According to the interview, Spears’ kids decided not to attend their mother’s wedding to model/actor Sam Ashgari because “she didn’t invite the whole family, and then if it was just going to be me and Preston, I just don’t see how that situation would have ended on good terms,” Jayden explained.
According to Kevin Federline, Spears’ sons have been negatively affected by their mother’s social media activity. “I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself.’ But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them,” he said.
In addition, Jayden voiced his disapproval of his mother’s Instagram habit, adding, “it’s almost like she has to post something on Instagram to get some attention. This has gone on for years and years and years, and there’s a high chance that this will never stop, but I’m hoping for me that she will stop.”
On Saturday, Spears appeared to respond to these allegations in an Instagram video with the message,”I’m so sorry children I continue to do social media … I’m sorry you feel I do it for attention … I’m sorry for the way you feel … but guess what ???? I’ve got news for you … I’m a child of God as well we all are in God’s eyes … so NOPE I’m not sorry … I’ve learned to say SO !!!”
Spears goes into greater detail about the fight in an audio tape she released on Monday, in which she addresses her younger son, now 15 years old: “Jayden, as you undermine my behavior just like my whole family always has with, ‘Hope she gets better. I will pray for her’ — pray for what?”
“Do you guys want me to get better so I can continue paying your dad 40 grand a month, or is the reasoning behind you guys deciding to be hateful is because it’s actually over in two years and you don’t get anything?” Spears continued, implying that once her children reach the age of 18, Federline will no longer be able to collect child support payments.
Spears claimed in her audio posted on Monday that she had begged her sons for additional time together on numerous occasions, but that they would always leave her house before the end of their custody visits.
“If I didn’t shower you guys with gifts, and have amazing food ready and play a [expletive] saint, it was still never good enough,” she claimed. Spears also recounted an incident in which she informed Jayden she wanted to see him more and claims that he responded to her in the following manner “You called your dad. I never saw you again.”
