Black Is King album Disney Plus release: How to watch Beyonce’s new album right now



The much-awaited Beyoncé‘s Black Is King, a new visual album from Queen Bey, who wrote, executive produced and directed, is streaming now on Disney+. Based on the music from her album The Lion King: The Gift — isbilled as “a reunion of cultures and shared generational beliefs” and includes featured artists and various other special guest appearances.

The new Black Is King visual album from Bey features guest appearances from Kelly Rowland, Tina Knowles-Lawson, Jay-Z, Lupita Nyong’o, Naomi Campbell, Pharrell Williams, and others. Also, you get to see Blue Ivy Carter as well as the Carter twins, Rumi and Sir. The film presents us lush visuals to celebrate African culture, roots, customs, sights, and sounds.

In an Instagram post, Beyoncé explained the goal of Black Is King.

“With this visual album, I wanted to present elements of Black history and African tradition, with a modern twist and a universal message, and what it truly means to find your self-identity and build a legacy,” she wrote.

Black Is King visual album follows the stories of Black families throughout time and tells “a tale about a young king’s transcendent journey through betrayal, love, and self-identity,” Disney described in a press release. The young king’s loved ones help guide him to reclaim his home and throne.

Here’s how you can watch Black Is King now that it’s live on Disney Plus. 

Can I watch Black Is King on Disney Plus for free?

In order to watch the Black Is King, you must have one of the Disney Plus subscriptions below. Please note that the subscription can be canceled at any time.

While Disney Plus no longer has a free trial option, some Verizon and US Mobile subscribers may be eligible for a free Disney Plus account as part of their wireless or internet services. 

For rest, there are three ways to subscribe:

  • Month-to-month Disney Plus subscription ($6.99 per month).
  • Annual Disney Plus subscription ($70 per year): If you prepay for a year then this makes your monthly payment to $5.83. 
  • Disney Plus/Hulu/ESPN Plus bundle ($12.99 per month):  You can save $5 a month if you get this service as a bundle. 

If you don’t find Black is King featured at the top of Disney Plus, you can just search through the search option for it.

Yes, Disney Plus lets you download all its shows and movies to watch them offline at ease.
