Battlefield 2042 Weapon Unlocks: How to Get Every Weapon
Battlefield 2042 is now out, and it comes with a large array of futuristic weapons to try out across multiple multiplayer levels. While the weapon pool in 2042 isn’t as extensive as in past Battlefield games, there are still plenty of assault rifles, submachine guns, and other weapons to utilize for each of the game’s Specialists. You won’t get access to all of the weapons straight away, though. The majority of them must be unlocked through gameplay. Here’s how to gain all of Battlefield 2042’s weapons.
How to Get Weapons Unlocked
The weapons in Battlefield 2042 are unlockable like they are in other FPS games. When you hover over a weapon in the Collection tab, the unlock requirement is displayed. Except for LMGs and Utility weapons, you’ll start the game with one weapon from each category unlocked. At level 3, you’ll obtain your first LMG, the LCMG. At level 7, you’ll obtain your first Utility weapon, the MCS-880 Shotgun.
The NTW-50 Sniper Rifle, a formidable long-range weapon that can even dent vehicles and armor, is the final weapon you will unlock in Battlefield 2042. After reaching level 60, there are still a few ranks to go, but you’ll have access to the whole arsenal.

How to Unlock Weapon Attachments
Weapon attachments, like the guns themselves, are unlocked simply by playing the game. You’ll gain attachments for a gun as you use it in multiplayer, Hazard Zone, or Portal. After achieving specific milestones, such as a set amount of kills with the weapon, new attachments are granted.
Typically, your first few attachments will consist of a few scopes and other basic functionality. However, as you gain experience with the weapon, you’ll be able to acquire different ammunition kinds such as High Power Ammo and Subsonic Ammo. Muzzle accessories such as Muzzle Brakes and Compensators can also help with recoil management.
How to Get Weapons in Hazard Zone
Because Hazard Zone has its own economy, weapons are distributed differently in this mode. Weapons must be purchased using Dark Market Credits before they may be used in Hazard Zone. You’ll have to buy your favorite Hazard Zone weapon every time you start a new match because purchases only last for one round.
Fortunately, firearms aren’t prohibitively expensive, so you should be able to purchase the most of the time. You’ll be stuck with the free M5A3 assault rifle if you don’t have any Dark Market Credits, which doesn’t allow you to use attachments.
How to Use Classic Weapons in Portal
Players may revisit classic Battlefield levels in Battlefield Portal, complete with the original movement, weapons, and music. If you’re playing on a Portal server that has them enabled, all Battlefield 1942, Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3 weapons are accessible by default. The featured playlists’ classic maps are the greatest way to get into the remastered maps and try out the classic weapons.
On PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, Battlefield 2042 is currently available.
