Baltimore police officer who had been shot in her patrol car has died
One week after she was shot while sitting in her patrol car, a Baltimore police officer has died after being taken off life support.
When Officer Keona Holley’s health began to deteriorate in recent days, her family took the tough choice to discontinue the officer’s life support. She passed away shortly after that.
Both Elliot Knox, 31, and Travon Shaw, 32 — who were detained and accused with the killing of a man in a subsequent shooting — have been identified as suspects.
1:30 a.m. on Dec. 16 in southern Baltimore, Holley, a 39-year-old police officer, was shot while driving her patrol car.
Justin Johnson, 38, was shot and died in a southwest Baltimore area approximately 10 miles distant from Holley’s death, according to authorities.
The motive for the shootings is unknown.
