“Avatar: The Way of the Water – Official image Reveals Sigourney Weaver’s New character as a Na’vi Teenager”
Another official image and cover for James Cameron’s long-awaited sequel Avatar: The Way of the Water have been released by Empire Magazine, depicting Oscar contender Sigourney Weaver’s completely new role. It has been confirmed that Weaver is playing Kiri, a teenage Na’vi girl who is Jake and Neytiri’s adopted daughter.
Avatar 2: Release date
Avatar 2 is now scheduled for release on December 16, 2022, following a number of postponements. The following three movies are tentatively scheduled for December 20, 2024 for Avatar 3, December 18, 2026 for Avatar 4, and December 22, 2028 for Avatar 5.
Avatar 2: Synopsis
The official synopsis for Avatar: The Way of Water states that it is “set more than ten years after the events of the first film” and “begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their children), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.”
Previously, the Alien actress took on the character of Dr. Grace Augustine, the exobiologist in charge of RDA’s Avatar programme. Cameron picked the renowned veteran action performer for the challenging role of playing a teenage teenager due to her character’s demise in the 2012 movie.
It’s a significant acting challenge, according to Cameron. “An actor in his 60s will portray a character who is decades younger than her true biological age. Sig found it to be a lot of fun.
“Sigourney just got younger,” he continued. For the duration of our captivity time, she never really left Kiri and appeared younger and more energetic. She had a radiance, a lightness in her step, and a playful personality.
Avatar 2: Cast
James Cameron co-wrote and directed the sequel. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald, and Sigourney Weaver are among the actors who return in it. Along with a number of young actors, the cast also included Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Vin Diesel, Jemaine Clement, and Oona Chaplin.
