“Avatar: The Last Airbender – Netflix’s Live-Action Series Wraps Production”
After more than seven months of filming in Vancouver, Canada, Collider reports that the upcoming live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series on Netflix has finally wrapped up production. There is no set date for the coming-of-age action fantasy drama just yet.
A brand-new behind-the-scenes shot of the primary cast, which includes Gordon Cormier, Dallas Liu, Kiawentiio Tarbell, and Ian Ousley, was shared on Instagram by the show’s titular star in honour of the production’s completion. You can check it out below.
Live-Action Avatar: Cast
Avatar: The Last Airbender, based on the popular Nickelodeon animated series, will star Filipino-Canadian actor Gordon Cormier (The Stand), Kiawentiio (Anne with an E), Ian Ousley (Physical), and Dallas Liu (PEN15) as Aang, Katara, and Zuko. They are joined by Ken Leung as Commander Zhao, Lim Kay Siu as Gyatso, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai.
Elizabeth Yu (All My Love), Maria Zhang (Kyoshi fighter Suki), C.S. Lee (Avatar Roku), Amber Midthunder (Princess Yue), A Martinez (Pakku), Yvonne Chapman (Kung Fu), Tamlyn Tomita (Cobra Kai), and Casey Camp-Horinek (Reservation Dogs) are among the additional cast members.
Albert Kim, who created Sleepy Hollow, is the showrunner, writer, and executive producer of the live-action series. Kim went on to emphasise the value of authenticity and representation as well as the project’s enormous duty to provide a story that emphasises Asian and Indigenous people in his personal letter to fans.
Executive producers for The Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix are Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore. Michael Goi, Roseanne Liang, and Jabba Raisaini are directing it, while Goi and Liang are also executive producers.
