August Alsina comes out, also hints about possible boyfriend

August Alsina is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community.

The 30-year-old musician just opened up about his new relationship in the closing moments of Monday night’s episode of the VH1 remake of The Surreal Life (November 21).

It’s common knowledge that August dated Jada Pinkett Smith for a while. He stated that Will Smith had given him the green light to start dating her in June of 2020, but her representative quickly shot that down.

Jada’s appearance on Red Table Talk with Will, in which it was revealed that she had a romantic involvement with August during a time when she and August were separated, was met with much outrage because it was claimed that Will had given his consent to the affair. A new buzzword at the time, “entanglement” was coined after her description of the couple’s connection.

During one scene, August expressed his desire for an infinite love.

In a confessional that reportedly was shot after the season was filmed, August tells the camera,“And then what do you know? Love showed up, but in a new way. I want to share that and really honour the person that I love and that loves me back and teaching my so much about love and healing. I want to that in front of the world because it defies all the constructs that one would say love is supposed to be or love should look like.”

A man then sat down next to August and they said “I love you” while sharing a hug.

August has not identified as a specific sexual orientation, and it is unknown if the man he appears to be dating is indeed his partner or not.
