Ashley Tropez, 24 Years Old, From Beyond Scared Straight, Has Passed Away
It is with great sadness that the Beyond Scared Straight family learns of the passing of one of its own.
Ashley Tropez, a 24 year old star of the hit A&E show, has died.
According to a news release from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department that E! News acquired, on August 26 deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a report of a dead corpse inside an abandoned California residence. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about a man named Tropez, who was later located inside a house suffering from what they described as “traumatic injuries.”
The release said that after discovering Tropez, the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division Homicide Detail began their investigation. A 24-year-old suspect has been apprehended and recognised by authorities. Agents said they believe Tropez and the suspect knew each other and “may have been squatting” at the residence.
Tropez first gained fame as a reality star at the tender age of 17 when she made an appearance on Beyond Scared Straight. The A&E series, which has been nominated for an Emmy, reportedly follows young people who have been sent to crime prevention programmes in an effort to keep them out of jail. Beyond Scared Straight has been running since 2009, and throughout that time it has profiled 331 juvenile detainees in a total of 29 different facilities.
Tropez claimed in her episode that she was admitted to the facility for “fighting and selling weed.”
A year later, Tropez told The Sun that her experience on the show had not influenced her opinions. “I’m still the same person,” Tropez reportedly told the media. “I just be everywhere, from friends to family’s houses. Just chilling.”
