Apple may be launching updated MacBook Pros later this year
There have been recent reports that point to the possibility that Apple may release redesigned MacBook Pros later this year, and that these new models could be something truly remarkable. According to DigiTimes, the new MacBook Pro 2022 models are rumored to be equipped with Apple’s M2 Max and M2 Pro chips. We would be thrilled if this were to be the case, as the new chipset is rumored to offer a 12-core CPU and a 28-core GPU. This would be a significant improvement when compared to the M1 Max, which has a 10-core CPU and a 32-core GPU.
When you consider how much we have been enjoying Apple’s most recent MacBooks and Macs, the mere possibility that we may get upgraded MacBooks is very intriguing. This is true even if there aren’t any significant changes to the way the MacBooks look. Not only have they altered the way in which we interact with our laptops in our day-to-day lives, but they have also altered our expectations of what constitutes a smooth and fluid performance, even if it comes with a heavy price tag. They have a simple but stylish design that makes them suitable for many users, such as students, professionals, and artists.
There are a few enhancements that we anticipate seeing with the new devices, should and whenever they become available. When we were writing the evaluation for the Macbook Air (M2, 2022), one of the points we made was that the colors that Apple offers for its MacBooks could use a little more vibrancy. The options of gray, a darker shade of gray, and gold are starting to feel a little stale. The most recent iterations of Apple’s colorful iMacs have really brought to light how much color was lacking in Apple’s other product lines. Given the success of Apple’s colorful iMacs, we expect that in the near future, Apple’s MacBook will be a little less dreary.
There isn’t much more that we are able to say about these potentially new MacBook Pros at this time, but as the launch date draws nearer, there may be an increase in the number of leaks and rumors that emerge.
