Apple iPhone 14 Plus isn’t doing as well as the iPhone 14 Pro models: Reports
According to many sources in the media, the recently released iPhone 14 Plus by tech giant Apple is not gaining much traction after a recent report stated that it had “unexpectedly low sales.” MacRumors cites a story from DigiTimes that claims sales of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are being significantly overshadowed by an “enthusiastic” response to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The information was originally published by DigiTimes.
Sources who spoke to DigiTimes stated that despite differences in sales performance between the Pro and non-Pro iPhone models this year, total phone model shipments will likely be around the same as those for the iPhone 13 lineup in the second half of 2021. This information was provided despite the fact that the Pro iPhone models were released first. According to the source, if sales of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus “stay flat” in the near future, Apple may cut its orders for parts needed to make the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus in the second half of October.
If Apple reduces orders more aggressively than projected, then the overall iPhone 14 lineup shipments by the end of the year may even dip when compared to the iPhone 13 series during the same time frame last year, according to the report. In the meantime, Apple has only recently revealed that the iPhone 14 Plus is now available for purchase. This model has a display that is 6.7 inches in size, an improved dual-camera system, crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, an A15 Bionic processor, and longer battery life.
