Apple Arcade will include “Disney Melee Mania” exclusively in December
Disney has yet to realise the enormous potential in creating its own version on Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. fighting game, despite a number of fan theories to the contrary. Disney Melee Mania, an Apple Arcade exclusive that will be released in December, may be a step in the right direction.
With just a glance of the game through its Twitter feed and Apple press release, we can say that it does contain characters from Disney and Pixar including Elsa, Moana and Buzz Lightyear battling it out for glory in a quest for victory.
A 3v3 MOBA-like game is being described by Apple as:
Each champion will appear in a distinct action-ready design equipped with their own set of iconic moves and unlockable cosmetics. Throughout five-minute matches bursting with battle arena action, players will need to score the most points possible — or defeat the opposing team as many times as they can — for a chance at victory.

Apple has promised a minimum of 12 characters to begin with, with more to follow. These characters will likely be included in your monthly $5 Apple Arcade subscription price, which has no commercials or in-app purchases.
So far, we’ve seen:
- Wreck It-Ralph
- Moana
- Elsa (Frozen)
- Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story)
- Mickey Mouse (with his Sorcerer’s Apprentice costume)
- Frozone (The Incredibles)
- Bing Bong (Inside Out)
- Jasmine (Aladdin)
- Timon (The Lion King)
- Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)
It’s from a studio called Mighty Bear Games, which brought Butter Royale to Apple Arcade last year.
