Animal Crossing: New Horizons will have a Black Friday sale in-game
Life, death, and the creeping and relentless claws of Black Friday are the only things that are certain during our time on this planet.
The made-up business holiday has apparently made its way from American suburbs to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, everyone’s favorite charming island lifestyle game. How? We now know that Nook’s Cranny will be offering its own in-game Black Friday sale this year, thanks to a few resourceful fans. It’s called “Nook Friday,” and it runs from November 26 to November 30. All things sold by the Nook brothers will be discounted by 30%.
It’s hardly the best deal in the world, but it’s a nice bonus nonetheless. It’s also convenient because it coincides with the launch of a slew of new features as part of the 2.0 update.
At first glance, the event may appear to be at odds with the game’s concept; after all, we’re on an island retreat. In a perfect world, our days would be spent doing home improvement projects, fishing, cooking, or whatever else catches our attention. Tom Nook, on the other hand, is unconcerned. Tom Nook simply wants you to purchase all of the glitzy new goods. (Needing Lottie’s resort getaway suddenly makes a lot of sense.)
We’re still waiting to see if there will be a big queue of villagers waiting for the store to open.
