Andy Dick arrested for public intoxication and failing to register as a sex offender
Elsinore, California, for public drunkenness and sex offender nonregistration.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said that deputies went to a “intoxicated person” on the 15700 block of Grand Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Dick, 67, was detained without incident after “displaying symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol” upon arrival.
Authorities stated Dick “was a registered sex offender who was not up-to-date on his registration.” The RCSD says he was lodged into Cois Byrd Detention Center and the investigation is ongoing.
Dick has had legal issues recently. After a guy accused him of sexual assault, he was detained for felony sexual violence in May, but the charges were dismissed. After trying to take power tools from a Santa Barbara property, he was arrested for first-degree residential burglary in October. The Santa Barbara News-Press reports his not-guilty plea.
Dick was sentenced to 90 days in Los Angeles County prison for molesting an Uber driver in 2018. Sex offender registration was required.
The comic, who starred in three seasons of The Andy Dick Show, has a decade-long legal background. In 2008, Murietta, California police arrested him for narcotics and violence. He accepted a one-year alcohol-monitoring bracelet plea agreement.
Dick is also accused of on-set sexual misconduct. In 2017, he was fired from two films, Raising Buchanan and Vampire Dad, for reportedly groping and making indecent statements to various people.
