Andrew Tate arrested: Andrew Tate and Tristian Tate are taken to Police Custody in Romania Charged with Human Trafficking
Andrew Tate, a controversial online influencer and self-described misogynist, has been jailed in Romania on suspicion of human trafficking, rape, and organizing a criminal organization, according to officials. Along with his brother and two other suspects, the former kickboxer and reality TV personality, who has been barred from several social networking sites for hate speech and misogynistic remarks, was taken into custody. In a statement, the anti-organized crime unit said that they would be held for 24 hours after their Bucharest homes were searched.
Since April, there has been a criminal inquiry into the Tate brothers. Despite their lawyer’s confirmation that they had been held, they declined to speak. Tate’s spokesman declined to comment further on the reports, telling the Daily Mirror that he was unable to do so. Although they have the utmost regard for the Romanian authorities, Andrew and Tristan Tate “will always aid and help in any way they can.”

Investigators have found six women who, according to a statement that was translated from their original language, were sexually used by the organized crime group.
“The four suspects… appear to have created an organized crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing, and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialized websites for a cost,” prosecutors said.
“They would have gained important sums of money.”
Mr. Tate, a British citizen who was born in the US, competed professionally in kickboxing and won world championships before becoming well-known worldwide. He entered the Big Brother house in 2016 but was quickly sent out after a video surfaced that purported to show him slapping a woman with a belt. When he has kicked off the show, Mr. Tate claimed that the footage had been altered and described it as “a pure fake attempting to make me appear terrible.”

As a result of his comments that women should “carry responsibility” for being sexually assaulted, he later gained prominence online and was banned from Twitter. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok have all banned Mr. Tate. TikTok said that “misogyny is a horrible way of thinking that is not allowed.”
The BBC’s disinformation and social media correspondent Marianna Spring stated earlier this year that his writing has “raised worries about the real-world effect it could have.” His posts on other online forums advocate bigotry, target women, and receive millions of views. After Elon Musk took over Twitter, he has recently been able to use it again with former US President Donald Trump.
