AMD Ryzen 7000 is quite expensive compared to Ryzen 5000 series
This most recent news claims that the company’s pricing for the new AMD Ryzen 7000 Zen 4 Soc has been revealed online. However, recent rumors suggest that the chipset will be more expensive than the AMD Ryzen 5000 series that it replaces. Equipment is more expensive outside of the US market, which is where these prices originate from PC Canada. Take the rating with a grain of salt because it’s possible the job listings aren’t even real.
These rates are fair when compared to MSRP, representing a 10% to 12% premium above Ryzen 5000’s launch pricing. Now that the Ryzen 5000 has been on the market for a while, such prices are quite exceptional and typically only incurred by those operating outside of the mainstream. Ryzen 7000 will be an unaffordable platform because of these price hikes, as well as the greater cost of AM5 motherboards and far more expensive DDR5 memory.

Launching on September 15, Ryzen 7000 will usher in a plethora of groundbreaking performance enhancements to the Ryzen platform, including the new AM5 connector, PCIe 5.0 compatibility, and DDR5 support. Ryzen 5000’s official execution improvements have gone up by 18%. Single-strung execution has gone up by 15%, and multi-strung execution has gone up by 35%.
The new Zen 4 architecture is responsible for these enhancements, which include a significant increase in clock speed to 5.5GHz and an 8-10% IPC gain to the cores. Unlike the previous two Ryzen generations, AMD isn’t increasing the maximum number of cores in the Ryzen 7000 to 32. Early reports indicate that the launch will include center variants with six, eight, twelve, and sixteen seats. In the future, we hope to see Ryzen 3 processors with four cores to round up the Ryzen 7000 family.
The results of the Ryzen 7000 following its release will be very interesting to watch. Because of the massive size of its previous-generation Ryzen 5000, AMD not only has to compete with Intel’s Alder Lake and forthcoming Raptor Lake CPUs but also with itself. If the past is any indication, AMD will keep gradually reducing the availability of Zen 3 CPUs until they are no longer produced. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is a good example of this. If the rumors are true, this chip will see its biggest price drop yet before Ryzen 7000 is introduced.
As a whole, it will be a strong budget alternative to AMD’s future Ryzen 5 7600X and Ryzen 7700X gaming processors. Similar to how the Ryzen 7 5800X3D surpasses the Core i9-12900K when manually overclocked, the Core i9-12900K is no match for the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Therefore, it will excel in gaming performance compared to modern CPUs.
