All of Prince Harry’s Nasty Comments about William in His Autobiography
Even though there was some sibling rivalry on display in the docuseries, this is somewhat surprising because many believe that their father, King Charles, is the source of some of the most shocking anonymous claims about the Sussexes’ time in the family.
Harry continues to compare his and Meghan’s decision to quit the royal life to the life of his late mother, Princess Diana, who suffered at the hands of the crown and the media. If anyone should have recognised that history was repeating itself and supported Harry and Meghan throughout, it would have been Diana’s older son.
Competition
Harry calls William his “beloved brother and archnemesis” in the book, a description he maintains in a preview for his upcoming Good Morning America interview with Michael Strahan, adding, “There has always been this competition between us, weirdly. … I think it really plays into or is always played by the heir [and] spare [labels].”
Physical fight
According to The Guardian, a physical fight between the brothers is “one of the many” shocking revelations in the biography, and perhaps the most sensational one recorded thus far. Spare describes a 2019 argument in Nottingham Cottage, where Harry was living at the time, that began with William calling Meghan (whom Harry met in 2016 and married in 2018) “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive” and escalated into a shouting match when Harry accused William of echoing the British media’s unfair narrative about his biracial American wife. This argument became physical when William “grabbed [Harry] by the collar, ripping [his] necklace, and … knocked [him] to the floor.” Meghan noticed Harry’s back injuries after he fell on a dog dish and shattered it, resulting in visible bruising.
Nazi outfit
According to Page Six, which saw a leaked portion of the book and interviewed a “publishing insider” who had read more, Harry’s most vulgar public moment occurred in 2005, when he was spotted wearing a Nazi outfit to a party. His brother and sister-in-law were also present. Apparently, the costume was for a “Native and Colonial” themed party, and when Harry asked William and Kate if he should go as a pilot or a Nazi, they chose the latter. Harry said, “They both howled. Worse than Willy’s leotard outfit! Way more ridiculous! Which, again, was the point.”
Games
Harry has been quite vocal about his prior career as a pilot in the military, which is frequently referenced in media accounts of his recovery from his wild adolescence. This patriotic pride inspired Harry’s conception of the Invictus Games, an annual sporting event benefiting injured and ill veterans and service members. Spare adds that William was envious of Harry’s concept, “saying that William complained it would drain foundation funds.” Harry cited the Prince of Wales’s unwillingness to endorse the Games as evidence of their ongoing rivalry.
The Hold
According to Spare, Prince William supposedly “tried to resist” his initial embrace with Meghan Markle, which “completely freaked him out.” But, like, maybe he doesn’t get down like that? After all, they had just recently met, and according to the leak, Harry notes, “Willy did not hug many strangers.”
The Suits
In what may be the most stunning Spare revelation to date, Harry reveals that William and Kate are “regular—nay, religious—viewers of Suits.” According to Page Six, when Harry told his siblings who his new girlfriend was at the beginning of his relationship with Meghan, “their mouths fell open” and William said, “F— off?” It appears that William’s acquaintance with Meghan’s profession increased his apprehension regarding Harry’s new relationship. William “said to slow down” after Harry assured his brother that Meghan was “the one,” according to Spare, who added, “She’s an American actress, Harold. Anything might happen.”
Frostbitten
Another “shocking revelation” from Page Six’s reporting on Spare is Harry’s admission that his penis was frostbitten at William and Kate’s 2011 wedding, as he was recovering from a month-long charity North Pole expedition. As one does when one’s penis is frostbitten and one’s brother is getting married, the Duke of Sussex reportedly applied Elizabeth Arden cream to the injury and endured the wedding, visiting a doctor only after the ceremony.
