Actress Denise Richards and her husband were the targets of a shooting during an alleged road rage incident
It has been confirmed that Denise Richards, who was shot at during a road rage incident in Los Angeles on Monday, is shaken but otherwise unharmed. When the actress and her husband Aaron Phypers were on their way to the location, a gunman in a passing car opened fire. Their pickup took a gunshot in the back.
TMZ, who first reported the news, published a photo that appears to show a bullet hole in the back of the driver’s side of the couple’s vehicle. It was alleged that Phypers, who was driving, was having problems locating the studio where Richards was scheduled to film. As the person in front of them squeezed through the narrow space, the driver of the car behind them became irritated and started yelling at them. A Phypers admitted the taxi driver. The suspect then opened fire on the truck the two were driving in. Thankfully, nobody got hurt.
TMZ claims that the Wild Things star was understandably shaken up upon her arrival to set, and that she could be heard sobbing. But she persevered and shot for 12 straight hours.
As of this writing, Richards’s representative had nothing more to add. It has been confirmed that the LAPD is looking into the incident that occurred near the corner of Slauson and Western Avenues.
This past September marked Richards and Phypers’ fourth wedding anniversary.
