Actress Alicia Silverstone strips down for a stunning PETA ad
Alicia Silverstone is one of the most well-known vegan celebrities in Hollywood, and she has been a staunch advocate for animal rights ever since she first came to prominence over twenty years ago.
That’s why she jumped at the chance to participate in PETA’s latest campaign, which required her to go out wearing nothing but her own skin. To promote more eco-friendly and animal-free variants of this material, Alicia stripped down to nothing…well, she donned faux fur boots.
The 46-year-old “Clueless” actress stated in a campaign film, “If I have to strip naked to make people care about animals, that’s what I intend to do.”
The author of “Kind Mama” said, “I never, ever, get naked on TV, on film, anything, ever, no, but I’ve done it for PETA because that’s how much I care.”
“I’d rather go naked than wear animals. There’s this idea that leather is somehow better for the Earth, but they don’t realize that the amount of resources – water, food, oil for transportation – the amount of energy it takes to make leather is extraordinary. It’s not sustainable. The Earth can’t take it,” she remarked.
Alicia was included in a photo session and promotional video beside a cactus to promote cruelty-free leather products.
“DON’T BE A PRICK,” the PETA photo reads. “Dress vegan. Buy cactus, mushroom, or apple leather instead!”.
This isn’t the first time Silverstone has exposed herself for a good cause. She performed a similar Times Square billboard ad three years ago for PETA to get people to stop buying wool.
When Silverstone was 21, she became a vegan and has been an advocate for the diet ever since.
Bethenny Frankel, Pamela Anderson, Joanna Krupa, Pink, and Khloé Kardashian are among the many celebrities who have bared all for PETA.
